This is Love

I pray that each of you are enjoying this Holy week as we approach Easter. I love the when God drops a message on me to share with you.  I have found that sometimes the simplest messages are the most powerful.  I pray that you will be blessed. We all know that Jesus loves us, and that he died for the sins of the whole world so that we would not perish but have eternal life; (John 3:16) beyond that what does God really want from us? I think we can get so caught up in the doing and we forget how to "be". I know that He wants to know us and for us to come to know Him more intimately.  The closer we grow with Christ and become familiar with his character, we will know him and our joy will be complete. Philippians 2:1-3 (ERV) tells us "Think about what we have in Christ: the encouragement he has brought us, the comfort of his love, our sharing in his Spirit, and the mercy and kindness he has shown us. If you enjoy these blessings, then do what will make my joy complete: Agree with each other, and show your love for each other. Be united in your goals and in the way you think.  In whatever you do, don’t let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble, and honor others more than yourselves."  Here's a good starting point in our Christian walk. Jesus, show me how to love like you love.

God is calling us to share his love, his Spirit and kindness with the world. With Christ's Holy Spirit in us we get the privilege of being his hands. We can use our hands to love and help those who need assistance. We get to see people with compassion the way Jesus sees people. Our ears become sensitive to sensing and hearing the concerns or fears of others. God will use us to give hope and encouragement to a troubled heart. We can become His voice and then sooth a weary soul and comfort a broken heart. God is calling us to be his hands and feet.  This world is perishing around us, I pray that your Spirit will be sensitive to the needs of others around you. Maybe someone just needs a cool drink of water. Let the Holy Spirit lead and guide you. I don't know about you, but I want to be so much bolder and braver in this area of my walk with the Lord.  In John 13:34-35, the scriptures simply tell us "I give you a new command: Love each other. You must love each other just as I loved you. All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other. This is what real love looks like when we walk, talk, listen and serve like Jesus.
