Our hope was born in a manger

Hope for the entire world was born over 2000 years ago, born to a teenage girl in a humble barn. The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords came to this earth as a helpless babe. This precious babe was destined to be the sacrificial lamb and the last blood sacrifice.  He was bound, so we can live free. He was bruised, pierced and humiliated so we can live healthy, whole and confident. Jesus took on the world's sin past, present and future so we can live free from sin and condemnation. Jesus has forgiven all sin. He is the light of the world and is the greatest gift we could ever receive.  If you have received Jesus you are always in right standing with God; even when you mess up, because you have Jesus' righteousness.

As Christians, we have a hope to face any circumstance in this life. We know our situations will change because of God's many promises found in his word.  We possess the faith to overcome every hardship no matter what comes our way because of our expectant hope. Hope isn't something that we have to find or muster up. This hope is always at work in us because of the covenant we have with God. Hope is in us! The fullness of Christ is in every believer. Everything that Jesus is resides in our born again Spirit. 1 John 4:17 tells us "As He is so are we in this world."

Our faith ignites what we hope for. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for"... Hebrews 11:1 Don't fall into the trap of thinking you don't have enough faith, we have "the measure of faith." The same faith in Jesus is in each believer. We can strengthen our faith and hope by reading and feeding on the Word of God.  Hope sees a bright future! Hope is our anchor when times get tough. Hope helps us rest in God's finished work on the cross. Psalms 62:5 "Yes, my soul, finds rest in God; my hope comes from him."

As we close out another year, I thank you for being on this journey with me to discover more of Jesus.  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace(this Christmas and in the coming year) as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (Sheri's addition)

Overflow my friend with the joy, peace and hope which comes from your personal relationship with Jesus. The world needs to see this hope in you and when they do, you might lead them to the greatest gift of all, Jesus.
