The Greatest Gift of All

The Christmas season is in full force. I thought we all could use a reminder of God's greatest gift to the world by sharing the story of how Jesus' birth began from the holy scriptures.

God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a very young virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.  He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”

The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.  Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.” “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

Did you catch that powerful scripture from the angel Gabriel to Mary? If you are greatly troubled or you just don't know how your situation will work out; stand on this scripture  "For no word from God will ever fail." God's word will never fail. There is a scripture for every situation we face and it won't let us down.

Every promise "in Him" from the Lord is Yes and Amen! (2 Corinthians 1:20) The promise for Mary is for you and I today.  Not one word from God will ever fail us.  Jesus is the word that became flesh.  A gift for all mankind. 1 John 1:1-5 tells us "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."

Jesus was always part of God's plan to redeem all of mankind from the very beginning. Life is found in a personal relationship with Jesus. All things good and light are found in Jesus. As we feed on his word, renew our mind to the truth of God's word and who we are in Christ; the true nature of Jesus will shine brightly in our lives. Nature sings and declares the glory of God, the Sun rises every morning and shines brightly, but we are all God has, to express and demonstrate his love and kindness to this world. God needs his children to love this world.

As we get closer to Christmas Day, think of unique ways you can demonstrate the love of God to people God puts in your path. As you begin to share God's love, I think you'll find it very easy to share the love of Jesus everywhere you go and all year long.

Knowing God's love for you will help you understand that you have the full measure of God in your born again spirit. If you feel empty, discouraged, fearful or sad open up your bible and read what God has to say you about your current situation. He …
