God is still, God of the impossible!

As we head into the season of Thanksgiving, I am so thankful for the love of God. The power of the Holy Spirit has limitless possibilities. I say this with such confidence, because God recently through his Holy Spirit rocked my world last month. I promised in last month's newsletter, I would share what happened and my prayer is for your heart, mind and spirit to be receptive to receive this encounter with childlike faith. Matthew 18:3 tells us “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Friends, the Kingdom of Heaven is closer than you think.  God is in us and the Holy Spirit longs for us to live in partnership with His Spirit.

I want to preface this encounter with some events that have happened to me over the past seven years. I've experienced a mighty rushing wind encounter in my bedroom one night. I was curled up in bed hiding under the covers. It was so powerful and at the time I wasn't sure what was happening. Then I was instructed to study Acts 2 (Acts 2:2). Shortly after that encounter I received the gift of speaking in tongues.(1 Cor 14:39) a gift that I longed to have. I've heard the Lord on a few occasions and once He gave me step by step instructions on how to fix the rinse cycle at my car wash. Last year on three separate occasions during my dad's illness, I encountered this amazing fragrance that just came out of the blue. It was so sweet. There have been more encounters but these are a few of the most profound moments until October 6th.

During the week of October 2nd, I was really sensing the love of God through sweet conversations and even text messages from various friends as well as from new women in my weekly bible study.  I truly believe God uses people to demonstrate his love to us. The week before I had just spent three evenings and one morning at Jesus17. I sat under the teachings and preaching of Daniel Kolenda, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn and then Todd White. I was on such a high spiritually after Jesus17. Then the Lord started using friends and these ladies to speak such life into everything I was putting my hands to. Sometimes, we need to know the Lord sees us and confirm we’re on the right path. He can do it when we’re willing to express our love, appreciation and kindness to others.

To be completely honest, I had such a sweet week and now I have plans to go to lunch with my Mom. Having lunch with my Mom was a wonderful way to spend my Friday. I had just finished a body pump class at the gym and my girlfriend Debbie and I were getting cleaned up to head off in different directions. As I was about to leave the gym, my friend Debbie said “Sheri you look so beautiful!” Her comment really surprised me, but it sure blessed me.  I was wearing some cropped jeans, flip flops and a sleeveless white blouse with white crochet around the neck line and arm holes. It’s a cute outfit, but beautiful…I’m not so sure about that, but I'll take the compliment. My Mom and I headed to lunch with my Dad’s high school classmate’s from Winter Park High School's Class 52' at the Willow Tree in downtown Sanford.  As I was enjoying my pork schnitzel, spätzle with rum sauce and red cabbage, I noticed I had oil all down my right arm and it appeared on my left arm just above my watch. I rubbed it in and didn't think anything of it and then it happened again. By the third time, I showed my Mom and said “look at this!” She said “oh it must be some lotion you put on.” I said, “No, it’s oil.” It glistened like gold and when I rubbed it into my skin, it just vanished. Throughout lunch, it kept appearing and I would rub it in. Then I excused myself to the ladies room and to my surprise and embarrassment, my shirt was completely saturated right across my chest. You could see right through my shirt. I got back to the table and quickly put on my sweater and it's in the 90s outside. I wore the sweater through the rest of lunch and then we left the Willow Tree. I made a dash to my car, my Mother walked around the corner to the German market.  I was certain that something had spilled in my gym bag and saturated my bra, but in the back of my mind I thought I would have felt it if the bra was soaked in oil. Nope, nothing, the gym bag was dry as a bone. I picked up my Mom and her friend Varlee; dropped Varlee at her car and then we headed to Walmart.  I’m still wearing a sweater in 90 degree heat because my shirt looks ridiculous. I dropped my Mom off at her house and told her "I will let you know what this is when I get home". I began taking selfies in the bathroom because I had to record this phenomenon. I should have video taped it but I didn't think about it.  As soon as I took a few pictures, I changed my shirt and took my bra off.  The entire bra with the exception of a two inch rectangle in the back was completely saturated. My bra was actually leaving a trail of oil on the bathroom counter. All I can say is Amazing!! I immediately, called my husband. I called my friend Rosemary and Claire because I needed a witness! They came over to see my bra and my blouse. They were as amazed and dumbfounded as I was.  I tweeted recently “When the spirit of the Lord pours out on you, expect the unexpected.”  Talk about unexpected.

What does it all mean? I know this is from the Holy Spirit and it's an anointing. Why me? I think God knows I'll tell everyone.  Like I told my pastor when I shared this with him, "I'll be a fool for Christ." I'm so excited to see what God will do with me. I'll just keep doing whatever God is calling me to do. I've already seen several healings manifest and I truly believe that is what God is calling me to do.
